This birthstone ring features a simple design featuring a single pear-cut amethyst set in a milgrain setting. Amethyst is the birthstone for February and its meaning is "sincerity." In a famous Greek myth, amethyst is said to be the incarnation of a beautiful girl. The moon goddess noticed the beast about to attack and instantly transformed the amethyst into pure white quartz. After sobering up, Bacchus repented of his sins and poured wine on the quartz, which instantly turned it purple, becoming the beautiful purple natural stone amethyst.
