February birthstone: amethyst

A noble and elegant purple that creates a dramatic glow

The noble color, which is said to have only been worn by emperors, emits a vivid glow that catches the eye even from a distance.

The thoughts behind the design

This pear-shaped cut ring is shaped like a pear, and is also known as a teardrop. It's a cute, original Colette Gift ring, with a stone size that's both practical and easy to use. It's recommended as a gift or as a personal talisman ring. It can be ordered in sizes from 1 to 13, so it can be worn on any finger. The ring's arms feature an elegant design with milgrain accents.

The craftsman's thoughts

This birthstone ring features a special cut, making it perfect for wearing as a protective stone or talisman. Compared to smaller single-stone birthstone rings, this ring has a more voluminous feel and emphasizes design. The stone is fastened all the way around, making it less likely to get caught on anything and more comfortable to wear.

February birthstone: amethyst

Amethyst has been loved by many people since ancient times. In Japan in particular, purple is considered the most noble color and has been highly valued in religious ceremonies. Historically, it was revered as the color of the highest rank in the "Twelve Ranks of Crown" established by Prince Shotoku, and in China in particular, it is said to have been a color that only the emperor was allowed to wear.

Amethyst is also known as the "guardian stone of love," and is said to give you the power to protect true love by nurturing a heart of love and compassion. With a Mohs hardness of 7, it is a highly scratch-resistant natural stone, making it a great choice for everyday accessories.

The origin of the name amethyst

In a famous Greek myth, amethyst is said to be the incarnation of a beautiful girl. One day, while drunk, Bacchus (the god of wine) was plotting to have a wild beast attack the first person he met, a female attendant to the moon goddess, amethyst, happened to be passing by. The moon goddess noticed the beast about to attack and instantly transformed the amethyst into pure white quartz. After sobering up, Bacchus repented of his sins and poured wine on the quartz, which instantly turned it purple, becoming the beautiful purple natural stone amethyst.
