In famous Greek mythology, amethyst is the embodiment of beautiful women.
Just as Bacchus (the god of wine) was drunk and about to have a wild beast attack the first person he met, Amethyst, a consort of the moon goddess, happened to be passing by.
When the beast was about to attack, the moon goddess noticed and instantly transformed the amethyst into pure white crystal. After that, Bacchus woke up from the night and reflected on his sins.
It is said that when wine is poured onto quartz, it immediately turns purple, becoming the beautiful purple natural stone known as amethyst.
