Jewelry that is passed down through generations as a happy memory of grandparents and parents and as a symbol of family ties is called "bijoux de famille," meaning family jewels.

In today's blog, we received a consultation from a client who wanted to tangibly embodi the memories of her late husband and wear them as jewelry.

This time, we will introduce the story of how we created a necklace and ring to order.

We asked her about her husband's work while he was alive, and about their memories of how they met.

Your husband has supported many people through his work.

His wife said it looked like the swallow in the story "The Happy Prince."

(The Happy Prince is a short story for children written by the British author Oscar Wilde.)

The couple had a bird ornament that they liked and displayed in their home, which was also used at their wedding.The bird looked as if it was about to take flight into the sky, which linked with the husband's image.

Using "birds" as a keyword, we wondered if we could incorporate leaps, future, and hope into the design. If we were to compare a faithful master to a natural stone, it would be the sapphire, which has the stone words of truth, sincerity, and compassion. The swallow's eyes, which appear in "The Happy Prince," are also made of sapphire.

We decided to design a matching platinum necklace and ring, adorned with beautiful dark blue sapphires as accents.

We then decided to engrave the handwritten words of a letter that the husband had written to his wife on the inside of the ring.

Taking into consideration the specifications of the jewelry that the wife normally wears, the situations in which she would wear it, and ease of use, we designed a platinum necklace that is 60cm long, and a ring that can be worn both at work and on a daily basis.

We created a design drawing, showed it to the customer, and then created a sample. Here is the finished product.

The bird motif paired with the long necklace has a loose design that gives it a light feel.

A simple design that can be worn in both casual and office settings. The sapphire is held in the bird's beak, giving it a swaying, dynamic look.

The ring has a voluminous design that makes it easy to wear every day.

The design features a motif of several birds flapping their wings.

The ring is thick and decorated with motifs, so the birds are embedded in the ring to give it a three-dimensional look and prevent it from getting caught when worn.

The finished product was well received.
